Chuckl. Proudly presents Harlow Comedy Club

Join us as we bring the very best comedians to The Harlow Playhouse.

See comedians you know and love and discover new talent that we love from the UK comedy circuit and beyond.

Tonight’s show features the magnificent Ivo Graham, Markus Birdman, James Beatty and Abi Carter-Simpson

Ivo Graham

As seen on Have I Got News for You, QI, The Last Leg, Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, and Taskmaster.

Despite extensive grooming for more serious careers at Eton and Oxford, Ivo (now 33) has spent his entire adult life on the stand-up circuit, winning So You Think You’re Funny? aged 18 in 2009 and since establishing himself as, if not the UK’s poshest, then certainly its most apologetically posh comedian. With a bumbling charm to snare audiences of all ages, he’s detailed the various developments in his relationships/neuroses over eight sell-out solo shows, including 2019’s The Game of Life, which received nominations for Best Show and Best Joke at that year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Markus Birdman

As seen on Britain’s Got Talent, and one of the very first British Comics to have his own Netflix Special - Live in Amsterdam.

From The Palladium to Pakistan, a highly experienced, versatile & award winning comedian, Markus is one of stand-up’s most well travelled comedians, much in demand in the UK and all over the world,

He has written and performed thirteen Edinburgh Festival Solo shows, and toured Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Scandinavia and throughout Europe, The Middle East and Far East. He has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows both in the UK and abroad.
Co-Writer on Jayde Adams’s 2020 Amazon Prime Stand Up Special, ‘Serious Black Jumper

James Beatty

James is an Essex based comedian with a cheeky but charming comedy style, winning over audiences with his big smile and warm energy.

James is an accomplished compère, known for his friendly audience interactions and sharp wit. His charming nature and solid material have already elevated him up the comedy ranks, securing gigs at some of the most prestigious venues in the country. A regular contributor on BBC Radio Essex, James is a people person with solid material and a quick wit, which is elevating him quickly up the comedy ranks.

“Funniest F**king Dude I’ve Ever Seen In My Life” Gerard Butler
“One of the best stand ups l’ve ever seen.” Neg Dupree

And MC Abi Carter-Simpson

As seen on Britain’s Got Talent

Abi’s performing career spans over a decade. From comedian to singer, actress to presenter; be it a comedy club, radio, live theatre, TV or on the big screen, she has consistently strived to entertain and make an audience feel at ease.

During lockdown, Abi turned her comedy online – her social media has had a collective audience of over 200k views and she hosted her own radio show for Quarantine FM every Saturday morning for the best part of a year named ‘The Good News Day’ show. She also is a regular webinar host for companies who need a professional boost to their online meetings and seminars – a string to her bow which is a particular product of the covid era!
